Overview

FAMU began to receive more recognition over the last two years. As the #1 Public HBCU, FAMU needs to stand out amongst other leading universities. Now more than ever, FAMU must update its content, improve its overall user-friendliness, and increase application engagement.

Challenge

The university underwent a significant redesign in 2021, just 4 weeks before this project was set in motion. As the responsible individual handling the graduate school site, my role entails updating the programs, improving visibility for both the master's and Ph.D. programs, and maintaining optimal consistency with the broader FAMU website, ensuring a seamless and cohesive user experience for all visitors.

The Old Website

The catalog navigation is way too long, there is no hierarchy, and there is too much text on the page.

The New Website

Improvements

  • Add navigation into all the Degree Programs

  • Separate Masters Degrees from PhDs

  • Separate all the different Schools/ Departments

  • Provide course description for each major

  • More discoverable APPLY button

  • Separate a section for the Graduate Feeder Scholars Program
